Red Ribbon Week drug free

During Red Ribbon Week, Oct 23 - 27th, the monthly K-5 classroom guidance lessons will link to the central theme of being drug free, and helping students define what is medicine vs. what is a harmful drug. There will be daily school-wide events that reinforce those classroom lessons. This year's Red Ribbon theme is Your Future is Key, so Stay Drug Free. The daily events planned at NH include:

  • "Band Together Against Drugs" on Monday, October 23, PTA will supply each student a red bandana to wear
  • "Join the Fight" on Tuesday, October 24, students will wear military themed or camo clothing
  • "My Future is too bright for Drugs" on Wednesday, October 25, students will wear neon and/or bright colored clothing
  • "Team Up Against Drugs" on Thursday, October 26, students wear their favorite sports teams clothing
  • "Proud to Be at NHE Drug Free" on Friday, October 27, students wear NHE colors and clothing

New Haven Students Go Global globe

New Haven's 4th grade students and friends really love learning about other countries! The diverse culture, enviroment, and language of our world is just so interesting! New Haven's World Language teacher, Senorita DeLange has brought so much of country, culture, and enviroment awareness to our students! Check out the video NH students created to send to a school in Nicaragua!

NH Needs those Box Tops Box Tops

Thanks so much to everyone that's been sending in Box Top labels for our STEM lab and other Unified Arts classes. Each Box Top sent in is worth $0.10 and it really adds up when everyone participates. Last spring New Haven sent in enough labels to collect $480.30. Keep them coming in and please share this information with neighbors, grandparents, aunts and uncles. This is an easy and great way to get them involved in your child's education! Make sure the Box Tops aren't expired and that the product acronym is legible. Our first deadline in November 1st so let's make it a great one!!!
