Attention All Drivers

All cars must be removed from the parking lot by 2:45PM each day. The marching band uses the lot for rehearsal. Cars left on the lot will be reported to the administration for disciplinary action. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Art Club Meeting

The first Art Club meeting will be Tuesday, August 29th at 2:30PM in the Art Room 121. All are welcome!

Leadership League Meeting

The first mandatory Leadership League meeting will take place on August 28th in Room 107 until 3:30PM.

E-Sports Tryouts

Do you play League of Legends or DOTA 2? Then get ready! E-Sports tryouts are taking place September 5th through the 8th from 3PM-5PM in Room 114. You need to show up to 2 of the tryout days to be eligible to make the team.

Solar Eclipse

Important Information about the Solar Eclipse

On Monday August 21st, 2017 we will experience a total solar eclipse, an event that hasn’t occurred over the U.S. mainland since 1979.  A total solar eclipse, which is when the moon completely covers the sun, will occur across 14 states in the continental U.S. along a 70-mile-wide swath of the country.  While Boone County is not located in this area, we will still be able to view the partial solar eclipse.

This event will be an extraordinary educational opportunity for our students.  Many of our schools will have special activities or lessons planned for this day to accompany the event.  While this event is extremely exciting for our students, we must also acknowledge the importance of proper eye safety.  While it should be common sense not to stare directly at the sun with your naked eyes, this advice will be even more important during this event.  The eclipse must be viewed only through proper eclipse glasses.  Schools with planned viewing activities will require students to wear proper solar eclipse glasses.

In order to protect our students’ eyes during this event:

  • Students will not participate in any unstructured outdoor activities, including recess
  • Students will be advised to not look directly at the sun without wearing solar eclipse glasses
  • We will provide additional personnel until 4pm for parents who do not want their children riding the bus during the eclipse.Children who do not ride the bus for that reason will have to be picked up by parents at 4pm.
Picture Day Lifetouch

Students and Parents:  Picture day by Lifetouch will take place on Wednesday, September 6th during 1st and 2nd Blocks.  If your child attends Early College, Dual Enrollment, Internship or School of Design they may have their picture taken beginning at 7:00 a.m.  Please mark your calendar!  Picture day packets and payment information will be distributed during 2nd block and sent home the week of August 28th.  Please send payment with your child on picture day.  Payments are not permitted to be dropped off in the Main Office. Students will receive an official student I.D. after picture day. If you have questions please contact Mrs. Redding at Donna.Redding1@boone.kyschools.us.

Senior Portraits by Prestige Pictures

Class of 2018 don't miss the opportunity to have your senior picture taken by Prestige.  This will allow you to choose a wide selection of poses and portraits.  Please contact Prestige at 859-578-0110 to make an appointment as soon as possible.  Seniors need to be photographed by Tuesday, September 26th.  This will ensure that you are in the composite displayed at CHS as well as be included in the digital yearbook.  Checkout our website page and book your appointment today!

TECHNOLOGY UPDATE

The technology committee encourages all students enrolled at Conner High School to bring their own device.  Students can get onto the network via a cell phone, tablet, chrome book, or laptop.    We do not provide a personal device for students in high school.  The district has provided the following document to help with deciding what to buy.  Student Device Purchases.  Please shop around and make sure the devices meet the minimum specs.   A lower budget purchasing option can be found here.

Approved Student Parking List

 

Students on the list may park on campus beginning Aug. 16. The parking lot will be first come first served. No student may park in faculty lot in front of the school or rear of the school between 7am-2:45pm. Parking passes will be sold during fee payment nights Aug. 24 from 4-7pm and Aug 30 3:30-6:30.

As always cars MUST be moved from the student lot prior to 3pm, at this time the front and rear lots may be used.

Students should be aware of the parking regulations.

ALL students requesting a parking pass MUST have & maintain: cumulative 2.0 GPA.


There are limited parking spaces at Conner High School. Therefore, we reserve those spaces for qualifying seniors. 
However, if spaces are available, juniors may apply date and time to be announced in August.

*Students who are registered for Dual Enrollment and Internship programs DO NOT need to send an email.


ARTIFICIAL TURF FUNDRAISER

Under the direction of Athletic Director, Jim Hicks a fundraising drive is underway to purchase new artificial turf for the football field. Check out their FaceBook page, Conner High Turf Field Campaign,  or contact Jim Hicks for more information.

 


CHARACTER COUNTS SPIRIT WEAR SALE

Microsoft Student Advantage Program

As part of our district licensing agreement, Microsoft has announced the Microsoft Student Advantage Program.  This program allows students in our district to install Office products on up to 5 devices – FREE.  Information on how students can download this free software is available here and it is linked off the Technology Department page of the district website.


Conner High School recycles ink and laser toner cartridges, cell phones, iPods/mp3 players, laptops, digital cameras, and gps devices. Unfortunately we cannot accept copy machine cartridges at this time. Contact Debbie Slusher if you have empty cartridges to donate.
