Library Closed Wednesday

The Library will be closed after school on Wednesday, Oct. 18th.

Bus Changes School Bus

Bus 192 will be held today. Bus 220 will return to get the students. They will be running about 20 minutes late getting home. Effective Wednesday, October 18th the students that ride Bus 192 will be riding Bus 363 home. Bus 337 will also be held today. Bus 248 will return to get the students. They will be running about 10-15 minutes late getting home.

FFA Dues Deadline FFA Logo

If you wish to join FFA, the last day to pay your $15 dues is Friday, Oct. 20th. You can find Ms. Gripshover before school in Mobile 135 and after school in Mobile 133.

Attention FFA Members

FFA Members - don't forget to come to the Hebron Kroger from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21st. Feel free to bring an animal for the children. Wear an FFA shirt.

Picture Retake/Club Picture Day Lifetouch

Picture Retake/Club Picture Day will be held on Thursday, October 26th in the Small Gym from 7:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.  If you attend Early College, School of Design, Internship or are not in the building during 1st or 2nd Blocks, please plan to have your retake picture taken at 7:00 a.m.  If you have questions, see Mrs. Redding.  Picture forms to place your order with Lifetouch will be distributed during 2nd Block in mid-October.

Senior Class Information

Seniors: Please vote for your class song, motto, flowers, etc. by the end of today. You should log in to your school Google account in order to complete this form.

Drug Free Club of America Information

When will students in the club be drug tested? The Drug Free Club of America's drug testing company will be coming to Conner High School on Monday, October 23rd to conduct the first initial drug testing for all students who have signed up for the club, paid the $35.00 membership fee, and turned in a completed brochure with parent/student signatures. That being said, any student who wishes to sign up for the club and be included in the first drug screen to receive a free t-shirt, goodie bag, and photo id membership card MUST do so by this Friday, October 20th.

***Last day to collect money for the first initial test is FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20th. How can students who wish to sign up for the club get the $35.00 and signed brochure to me?

Students must ask their teacher for permission to leave class and bring money to the classroom. They will use their hall pass with teacher permission. Student must knock on door, turn money in to me without disruption of class. On Thursday, October 19th, students may also come to Room 124 during club time to drop off the money. We will not be meeting as a club that day, but it also gives students another opportunity to turn in the money.

Fall Pops Concert by Conner Choirs

On October 19th and 21st (Thursday and Saturday), the Conner HS Choirs will be headed BACK TO THE EIGHTIES! Our Fall Pops concert will contain hits by Journey, Michael Jackson, Kenny Loggins, the B-52's, Cyndi Lauper, Bruce Springsteen, and many others! Costumes and crazy hair are highly encouraged and supported.

GSP Application Help GSP

There will be a GSP Workshop on Tuesday, October 17th is designed to help those who are serious about the GSP process. Our conversations will center around the following:

1. How to get the most out of your entries on the application.

2. How to choose a focus area that may able you to get into GSP.

3. We will also discuss things you can control in the scoring process and things you can’t control.

In addition, there will be model applications for you to utilize as a starting point for your own individualized entries in the extra-curricular, service, and honors and awards sections. We hope to see you there from 2:30 - 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17th in Room 215.

Homework Assistance

Need homework help? Do you need assistance understanding what is going on? Come to tutoring every Thursday after school in Room 117. You can get assistance in classes from Integrated Science to AP Stats.

Senior Dinner Dance

Senior Dinner Dance will be held on November 11th from 8:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. at the Gardens of Park Hills. Tickets will be sold on October 24th and 26th after school in the Lobby until 3:15. Tickets are $50 per person or $30 per person with a passport. Non-CHS guest forms must be turned in to Mrs. Franxman 2 school days before the tickets are purchased.

FBLA Dues FBLA

Attention FBLA members - Membership dues are being collected now through October 31st. The cost is $10 and must be paid by the deadline in order to attend club day meetings and participate in competitive events. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Biddle in Room 208 before or after school.

Gatton Academy Information Session

Attention: 9th/10th Graders - There will be an information session for Students and Parents interested in learning more about the Gatton Academy at WKU on Wednesday, October 18th at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. Zack Ryle, Assistant Director of Admissions, will present information about the program and the application process.

Information Packets Available for Potential Archery Students

Any student who is interested in participating in Archery for the 2017-2018 season can pick up the information packet with paperwork to complete outside Room 109. All paperwork and fees must be turned in to Room 115 by October 17th -- NO EXCEPTIONS!

Craft Academy at Morehead State

Attention Sophomores: There will be an informational meeting for students interested in applying to the Craft Academy at Morehead State on October 17th at 10 a.m. here at Conner. If interested, sign up in the Counselors' Office.

All proceeds from Amazon Smile will be used to benefit the CHS Character Counts Program. The link will indicate Boone County Board of Education but proceeds will come to CHS

TECHNOLOGY UPDATE

The technology committee encourages all students enrolled at Conner High School to bring their own device.  Students can get onto the network via a cell phone, tablet, chrome book, or laptop.    We do not provide a personal device for students in high school.  The district has provided the following document to help with deciding what to buy.  Student Device Purchases.  Please shop around and make sure the devices meet the minimum specs.   A lower budget purchasing option can be found here.

Approved Student Parking List

(updated 8-22-2017) 

Students on the list may park on campus beginning Aug. 16. The parking lot will be first come first served. No student may park in faculty lot in front of the school or rear of the school between 7am-2:45pm. Parking passes will be sold during fee payment nights Aug. 24 from 4-7pm and Aug 30 3:30-6:30.

As always cars MUST be moved from the student lot prior to 3pm, at this time the front and rear lots may be used.

ALL students requesting a parking pass MUST have & maintain: cumulative 2.0 GPA.


There are limited parking spaces at Conner High School. Therefore, we reserve those spaces for qualifying seniors. 
However, if spaces are available, juniors may apply date and time to be announced in August.

*Students who are registered for Dual Enrollment and Internship programs DO NOT need to send an email.


ARTIFICIAL TURF FUNDRAISER

Under the direction of Athletic Director, Jim Hicks a fundraising drive is underway to purchase new artificial turf for the football field. Check out their FaceBook page, Conner High Turf Field Campaign,  or contact Jim Hicks for more information.

Microsoft Student Advantage Program

As part of our district licensing agreement, Microsoft has announced the Microsoft Student Advantage Program.  This program allows students in our district to install Office products on up to 5 devices – FREE.  Information on how students can download this free software is available here and it is linked off the Technology Department page of the district website.


Conner High School recycles ink and laser toner cartridges, cell phones, iPods/mp3 players, laptops, digital cameras, and gps devices. Unfortunately we cannot accept copy machine cartridges at this time. Contact Debbie Slusher if you have empty cartridges to donate.
