Dear Camp Ernst Families,
It’s hard to believe that the 2016-17 school year is already here. I am excited to begin another great year at Camp Ernst Middle School and look forward to meeting our incoming families. A great community began eleven years ago at CEMS and the traditions that have continued to evolve in that time grow stronger each year. We will continue to “lead the way” as we embark on the adventures of this school year. Camp Ernst Middle School’s vision is to empower students with skills and opportunities to explore a path that leads to college, career and life readiness.
We are thrilled to welcome to the Camp Ernst family the newest members of our staff! Mrs. Rebecca Burton will be returning this school year as the assistant principal, Mr. Andrew Gatewood-vice principal, Heather Turner-6th grade math, Dustin Hager-7th grade science, Darren Nichols-7th grade science, Shannon McDonald-7th grade English, Ryan Burch-media center, Sara Palazzo-Spanish, Sarah List-STEM, Karen Witmyre-special education, Mekenzie Elbert-8th grade math We are excited to welcome the new Trailblazers to our school family and to welcome back our returning faculty and staff to the 2016-17 school year.
Our teachers are busy preparing their classrooms for the arrival of our kids and we have been training all summer long to prepare for personalized learning. We are excited about the opportunities we can bring to your children by tailoring their education to their individual needs.
We believe strongly in our vision to empower students with skills and opportunities to grow academically and socially during their middle school years. It is our goal to build strong individuals and to prepare them for college, career, and life through developing a strong educational foundation. As a school community we stress academic excellence, provide a positive and safe learning environment and model mutual respect and tolerance. We welcome you to visit our school and to become involved through volunteering. We are fortunate to have a supportive Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) and encourage you to become an active member. We are also proud to continue to grow our Blazer Dads organization and welcome you to become an active participant. The support of our parents, teachers and students has become a long standing tradition at CEMS and we couldn’t do what we do without you! Your children are our number one priority and we will continue to work diligently towards our vision and mission to prepare them for their future.
It’s a great time to be a Trailblazer!
