2019 Holiday Shop 2019 Holiday Shop

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Our Annual Holiday Shop will be December 5th – 12th. The Holiday Shop is quickly approaching!

Volunteers are needed to help with the set up (transforming the library into the holiday shop and putting out all the items) and break down of the Holiday Shop (taking all the leftover items, counting, and packing them back up), as well as helping the kids budget their money while they shop and finally, wrapping their gifts. It's so much fun to see how excited they are!! Don't worry if you are there while your child is shopping...we can be sure they shop with someone else, so you don't see what they're buying!! There is a job for everyone!

We are also looking for 3 volunteers per class to help during each class shopping time. Please contact your child's teacher if you are interested in helping.

15 pounds of dead markers that will NOT end up in landfills or our oceans. Did you know that Crayola has a program called ColorCycle? Crayola ColorCycle accepts all brands of plastic markers, not just Crayola markers. That includes dry erase markers & highlighters. This year, the Mann Ambassadors will be collecting items for the ColorCycle ALL YEAR! In the front lobby, you will find a large bucket with a COLORCYLE sign. This is where those items will go. We will check them regularly, and send them back to Crayola to be recycled and repurposed!  To learn more about this process, click HERE.

Drop off your “old” or “worn-out” markers INTO the bucket (In the atrium by the library)! We will do the rest!

Tobacco Free tobacco free

In 2019, the Kentucky legislature passed HB11, a statewide 100% Tobacco Free School bill. 100% Tobacco Free Schools prohibit tobacco use, including vapor products and alternative nicotine products, by staff, students and visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week, inside Board-owned buildings or vehicles, on school owned property and during school-sponsored events, trips and activities. The primary goals of these policies include reducing exposure to secondhand smoke and encouraging tobacco users to consume less of the addictive product.
The more significant long-term effect of these policies, however, is to reduce youth tobacco use by reducing student exposure to tobacco use as an acceptable behavior by role models important to their development. For additional information about tobacco free schools, visit the Tobacco Free Schools website.
