Teacher Introductions:

Suzanne Grote has her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. She has a Master’s degree in Teacher as a Leader and Gifted Education. This is her 8th year teaching for the Boone County School District and her 3rd year at Thornwilde as a 3rd grade teacher. She has 3 adopted boys ages 18, 19 and 22. She is newly married (1 year ago in July) and is very happy with her life. She enjoys family time on Sundays playing board games and cards. Her favorite drink is a Venti Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks as skinny as they can make it. Her motto is “We like to laugh, we like to have fun but, when it comes to work, we git her done.” (Larry the Cable Guy)

Mrs. Baehner has been teaching for 16 years, and has taught first, second, third, fifth and sixth grade.   She thinks that third graders are especially fun to teach!    Mrs. Baehner lives in Hebron and has three children, and a labrador retriever.    Her hobbies include scrapbooking and reading.  She enjoys traveling with her family and especially likes visiting the beach.  Her favorite food is pizza and her favorite drink is Starbucks iced tea.

Ms. Schlagbaum has taught so many years that she cannot remember....around 18 years.  This is her first year in third grade and she is so excited!  At home, she takes care of her four boys and a husband.  The only other female in the house is her dog, Bowie, whom she adores!!  Don't even get her started talking about it!  In her free time....what free time?....she loves to hang with her family and go to lots of sporting events!

Mrs. Mead has spent 10 years teaching in elementary grades.  Her master’s degree is in reading and she chose teaching as a profession because she loves kids!  Mrs. Mead and her family traveled all over the United States in the military and now Kentucky is home.  She lives in Union with her husband and two boys.  She is looking forward to another wonderful year at Thornwilde!   Together Everyone Succeeds!!

Ms. Dooley is a first year teacher. She recently graduated from the University of Louisville and is thrilled to become a member of Thornwilde Elementary School. She was a member of the University of Louisville cross country and track team for four years. Ms. Dooley grew up in northern Kentucky and is an active member of the community. She enjoys running, reading, and being active in her spare time. She is excited to begin the year and has many new innovative ideas for third grade!
